Bumpdate Week 30

 photo babyshower1213_zpsa6c522dd.jpg
29 Weeks 2 Days

How far along?  29 weeks is today's review, but as of today I only have 10 weeks left!! Aaaaagh! (Each bumpdate reviews the week previous)

Total weight gain: At my last Dr appointment, I had gained 10.5 lbs and I think I'm at least 11 now. My belly has definitely grown this past week.

Stretch marks?: Besides Stretch Mark Gate (read about it here in Week 28) I haven't had any more pop up and the few I have on the underside of my chest have not grown or gotten worse. I'm still using the  Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter every day and use my Skincare Ormedic Balancing Anti Oxidant Serum on the stretch marks. I figured if it worked miracles on my under eye area it may work miracles for stretch marks too.

Maternity clothes: With my shower this past weekend and work, I haven't bought anything new. I posted about my Recent Purchases here earlier this week, but nothing too crazy there and no "maternity" clothing, just bump friendly items. I'm still wearing my Old Navy Maternity Smooth-Panel Rockstar Jeggings  (I bought two pairs) and my Kiki La'Rue Jeggings (which aren't maternity, but fit below my belly).  I've been debating on whether or not to buy maternity shorts. I only have 10 weeks lefts and my jean shorts from last summer fit me if I wear them unbuttoned, I just don't know if it would be worth the buy since I can wear them only on weekends.
Belly Button in or out?: Flat and funny looking. It's so flat that I don't think that it can get any flatter so I expect for it to start popping out asap.

Sleep: Still the same as before, I'm waking up at least once during the night. This past week I've woken up every night at the same time- 3am! Funny huh? I've also been really warm and just uncomfortable overall, we've been sleeping with the window open and a fan going, but it's just not enough. I think I'll have to crank the AC on if it doesn't get better.

 Hubs putting together our crib!

Best moment this week: Hands down my baby showe, it was so perfect and fun. I've loaded all of the pics and will post about it next week!

We also put together our crib and moved the bookshelf to where it will be this weekend. I can't wait to start putting it all together, I will definitely post pictures!

Worst moment this week: Leg cramps, those suckers are pains in the rear end!

Have you told family and friends: Absolutely!

Miss Anything? Still seafood. My husband and I had salmon on Tuesday and went to lunch Sunday and everything that looked good to me was fish, which I couldn't have again until this past Tuesday. Oh, and salami! At my shower we had a cheese platter and it took a lot of willpower to not have the salami. It's so good and takes delicious with ghouda! (While pregnant, you're not supposed to have salami because it's a raw meat that has been cured.)

Movement: So much! Our little bunny is getting so big and her movements are getting stronger everyday. Sometimes it surprises me with how strong and big her kicks are getting. She's also been doing a lot of rolling, last week I saw she pirouetted all morning! This past week I've also felt like she's grown because I feel really tight and can tell she has less room now.

Food cravings: Melons! I bought two cantaloupes this past week that I'm waiting to ripen, but I can't wait to have some watermelon and honeydew. Grapes too. I've been wanting grapes forever, but they're still expensive at Costco and at the store I can only find small puny ones. So I'm holding out until I can get large firm, sweet grapes to really enjoy.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

Have you started to show yet: Oh ya, I'm all belly!

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: The leg cramping seems to have gotten worse. Thank you for all your suggestions last week, I've tried eating yogurt, bananas, and I'm already drinking at least one glass of milk each day if not several (I've always been a big milk drinker!), but there have been a few nights where I've woken up several times from them and twice where I had to jump out of bed like a flash. It's so annoying. I've start to try and stretch my upper body only now to prevent the leg cramps from happening. I'm still doing some research to see what I can do and if you have any other suggestions, I'm open!

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy, happy, happy!

What I'm reading: With the shower, errands, and having friends over I haven't read anything yet. I finally finished A Piece of Cake and will be posting a review about it because it was so good! I plan on starting The Happiest Baby this week.

Looking forward to: Putting together the nursery! Setting up the crib and the first shower really gave me the push I needed to get started. We plan on putting the dresser up next and then start decorating with the pieces we've bought for the room.

Recent Spring Purchases

 photo SpringPurchasesBlend_zps757753b4.jpg

Two weekends ago, I did some shopping and picked up a few things from my Spring Wishlist and Beauty Wishlist.  It was one of those trips where you go and EVERYTHING is cute and in your size. I'm not buying too much because of the bump and trying to find items that work for now and post-bump, so I only picked up two clothing items. Even after baby, I only plan on buying things that can be worn to work as well since I'll be going back after 12 weeks and I know that time is going to fly right by.

Old Navy Color-Blocked T-Strap Sandals in Neutral
I love t-strap sandals, I think they flatter my feet and if you're a long time follower, you know my love of nude shoes of any kind. I love that this pair has a mix of nude/tan and patent with non-patent. I know I'll be wearing these all summer long!

MyDeliciousShoes Gartel Wedge in Oatmeal
Finding a good wedged sandal that not sky high is so hard! I'm already 5'8" and I really don't need 5" heels. This pair is more of a tan color in person than the beige color in the pic above. I wore them for my shower on Saturday and they were so comfortable! Plus, I got a lot of compliments on them which is always nice when you're wearing something for the first time.

Old Navy Women's Printed Sundresses in White Floral
This dress was first featured in my Springing into Spring post, I am just in love with anything floral right now. I'm also on the hunt for a nice blouse, so let me know if you've seen anything! This dress works for the bump, it may not work until month 9, but I bought my regular size so I know I'll be able to wear it this summer. I plan on wearing it this weekend for Easter and again to a friend's baby shower.

Forever 21 Strapless Maxi Dress in Coral
Originally I bought this dress in the aqua, but when it came in, I saw that it was mostly green-aqua instead of blue-aqua like I wanted. It was just too close to my baby shower dress (see that OOTD here) from Zappos. I originally liked that dress in coral, but online it looks so peach I was afraid it would wash me out. So I decided to check everything out in-store for myself. In person, this dress is a true coral color, closer to orange than to peach. I absolutely love it! I found some fabulous earrings from Charlotte Russe too that will be the perfect pair with the dress.

NYX Lip Liner- Nude Beige
Ulta finally had this lip liner in! I was so happy to find it, I've been looking for a nude liner to help my gloss stay in place and saw this on Pinterest or another blog, I'm not sure, but thought it would be a great color. It was also featured on my Beauty Wishlist post.I tried it this past weekend and felt a bit chola though, it was kind of dark on my fairly pink pigmented lips. I'll have to try to blend it better and with different glosses to work. I was in a hurry so I just wiped it off and went without it. What's your favorite lip liner? Do you wear liner?

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sugar Pie
This is another goodie featured on my Beauty Wishlist post that I've had my eye out for forever! I absolutely love this color and the gloss. It's has a nice color, texture, and smell. It looks pretty alone and topped on my favorite MAC Hue lipstick (it's the best nude EVER!).

Essie Go Ginza
I first posted a pic of Essie's new Spring 2013 polish on Instagram (Kristen_Lawler) when I saw their ad in a magazine. I instantly fell in love with their lavender and pinks in the collection. I found the lavender Bond with Whomever early on at Target, but it's nearly identical to my all time favorite go-to Sally Hansen's Lacey Lilac. So I ditched that color and kept my eye out for Go Ginza and found it just over a week ago at Target when they finally got the entire collection in stock. I absolutely love it! It's such a lovely lavender with a hint of pink in it. I've worn it on my fingers or toes since then, it was also on my Beauty Wishlist post.

Have you bought anything for spring? What are you eyeing?

Baby Shower OOTD

 photo babyshower1214_zpsc7ca5c03.jpg

This past weekend I celebrated my first baby shower and it was so gorgeous and perfect! I'll be posting about it soon once I get all the pictures together. Can't wait to show you guys!

For the showers I'm having, I have been looking forever for some maxi dresses. I felt a little pressure because I was afraid that stores wouldn't have maxi dresses in until the week of my shower and it wouldn't give me enough time to go to the mall or order something online, especially if I had to return/exchange it. Also, starting my shopping so early was hard because I didn't know what size I would be by the time my shower actually came.

After looking for a few weeks I was getting disappointed with what I found and the shops I had planned on buying from didn't get stock in yet of maxi dresses. I was out of stores to check out when I remember one of my girlfriends found a gorgeous bridal shower dress from Zappos. I always forget that they sell clothes and not just shoes.

 photo babyshower1213_zpsa6c522dd.jpg

I'm seriously so in LOVE with this dress- I want it in all 21 colors!! Yes, it comes in 21 colors!! Isn't that amazing? This dress is perfect for any occasion and what I love most about it is how long it is! I'm 5'8" and wore wedges and it's all the way to the floor. If I were bare foot or had worn flats, it would have been dragging. It was so comfortable and lightweight, plus I didn't have to be pulling up the top all day long. I'm so happy with this purchase, I know I'll be wearing it all summer long.

Where's your favorite place to shop for maxis?  Hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful start to the week!

Bumpdate Week 29

How far along? 28 weeks today! (Each bumpdate reviews the week previous)

Total weight gain: I don't think I've grown any from last week, so I'm betting I'm still at 10.5 lbs.

Stretch marks?: None on my belly or sides (just a little bit on the underside of my breasts), I'm still using the  Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter every day.

Maternity clothes: Just wearing my regular clothes with the maternity pants I bought from Old Navy Maternity Smooth-Panel Rockstar Jeggings  (I bought two pairs) and my Kiki La'Rue Jeggings (which aren't maternity, but fit below my belly).  I bought two maxi dresses for my showers and some cute accessories and I'm waiting to wear them at my showers first before wearing them all the time.

Belly Button in or out?: Flat and getting flatter all the time.

Sleep: Much better! I'm still waking up during the night, but not to use the restroom, mostly just being awake. I did this before I was pregnant too so it's not much of a change. There's been twice where I've woken up wide awake and was up for about 1-2 hours. I hate those nights because I just lay there bored, I've tried reading or doing something else, but I found it wakes me up more instead of lulling me back to sleep.

Best moment this week: Finalizing my shoes/accessories for my upcoming showers and getting blonde highlights (I plan on going back to blonde). I also did a lot of cleaning this weekend which feels great! We just need to start putting the nursery together now, assembling the furniture, etc.

Worst moment this week: The anticipation of my shower this weekend! I'm so excited for my first shower and this week has seemed to drag by.

Have you told family and friends: Yep!

Miss Anything? Shopping isn't as fun as it used to be, I went shopping this past weekend and there were so many pretty dresses that would be long enough without the bump, but is walking the line with the bump. I'm sticking to maxi's, but it would be nice to find a dress that's short without being hoochie.

Movement: Tons and in new ways I haven't felt before. It's really exciting! I love seeing my belly move, especially seeing a body part grazing from one side to the next. I'm unable to distinguish what body part is making the motion, but I love feeling her every day.

Food cravings: Mangoes, kiwis, and salmon. I've been dreaming of shrimp tacos, shrimp salads, salmon, lobster, and crab. Some mussels and clams would be nice too. I'm telling you, I plan on having a smorgasbord post baby.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Have you started to show yet: Yes!

Gender:Team pink!

Symptoms: My leg cramps are happening more frequently and have been more severe the last two days. Once I even cursed from the cramping and hubs came from another room to see what the heck was going on. I've had them for a while, but the cramping would disappear as soon as it appeared so it really wasn't a big deal.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy!

What I'm reading: I haven't really been reading anything baby related yet, I'm almost finished with A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown (which although is astonishing and scary that someone's life can really be that way at such a young age, but is really good) and I want to finish it before the weekend because I borrowed it from a girlfriend and I'll see her at my shower and can return it. After I finish, I plan on starting The Happiest Baby.

Looking forward to: My shower this weekend!

On my drive to work, I saw a car that had "I speak reindeer" plastered all over, then when I passed him I saw this large man, with a full white beard, dressed in a red jacket. I couldn't believe it! What a fun surprise! I should have passed him my wish list!

My two favorite lip products: NYX Sugar Pie (the perfect gloss! It was also a part of my Beauty Wishlist) and Maybelline Baby Lips Peach Kiss. Both are great alone or layered together.

Some pretties I picked up this weekend, some statement earrings for my baby showers and I finally found Essie's Go Ginza! I featured this color in my Beauty Wishlist post and have searched for this for a few weeks and I love the color! It's the perfect balance between pink and lilac.

I'm heading back to blonde and started with some highlights. The color is lighter in person than in the shot, I'll try and get some better pics. I'm really happy with the outcome and can't wait to get to full blown blonde!

Bumpdate Week 28

 photo 70216991-5709-4B82-A9A8-DB42D09969FE-12574-00000745782C8655_zps2f9a2d64.jpg photo 417A198A-A706-41CC-BDBE-987B53AD5A00-12574-0000074571619E65_zps17e7923c.jpg
27 Weeks 2 Days

This past week I had my Dr appointment, which I was so excited about! My mother-in-law came with me and the Dr said everything is looking great! He measured my belly and said I'm exactly where we need to be, we went over several questions I had about labor, delivery, etc. (I keep notes on my phone for questions I want to review with him). I'm so happy that I have such a great Dr, I feel comfortable talking to him about the most random pregnancy stuff and asking any question that pops into my head. Since we had a guest, we did an ultrasound to check our little bunny out and she is so cute! She kept moving her mouth, and you can already see she had my Anderson Chubby Cheeks (all Anderson's in my family have them). I can't wait to kiss and cuddle with her! Right now, she's also breach, positioned up and down, with her head and feet pointing up. He said not to worry about it now and we have plenty of time for her to flip and turn head down. At my next appointment, if she hasn't turned we'll discuss more options for us. I'm really not worried at all, I have a feeling she'll turn and I have full faith and trust in my Dr, so I'm not afraid of having a C-section if that's what will be best. I'll keep you informed for that update! I also passed my glucose test, so I'm very excited about that! I was a little nervous I may not pass, but we're in the clear!

My girlfriend had her shower this weekend and it made me so excited for her! It's been fabulous going through our pregnancies together and I can't wait to meet her little man next month!Excuse our squinty eyes, the sun was so bright!

As one of my gifts, I made her a baby blanket with a vintage football theme.

How far along?  27 weeks, the first week of my third trimester! (Each bumpdate reviews the week previous, so I'm 28 weeks today)

Total weight gain: 10.5 lbs! My Dr said I've made great progress, but that I "can do better". He told me he wants me to gain another 10-15lbs before I deliver. Baby is weighing in at 3.5lbs as well.

Stretch marks?:  I got them....and I cried....a lot. Then I prayed that I can be thankful for all my blessings and realize how vain I was being.........and then I cried again. I'm better now, I'd even go as far to say I'm over it, and am just so thankful for so many things- that I'm pregnant to begin with, how easy my pregnancy has been, how quickly we were able to get pregnant, and how healthy our baby is. THAT'S what's important. Not the faint pink stretch marks I have. I'm still using the  Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter every day and have started to use my Skincare Ormedic Balancing Anti Oxidant Serum on the marks as well- I figured if it worked miracles on my under eye area it may work miracles for stretch marks too.

Maternity clothes: I picked up a strapless bra this weekend, I had to go up a size in band, but size down in cup (or my regular pre-pregnancy cup size). I picked it up from Target and it has to be the most comfortable strapless bra I've ever worn. I think it's this one (I'm pretty sure, but not positive) and I was hesitant about the style of cups, but it works just as well, but more comfortable than standard strapless bras that have two separate cups (does that make sense?). Don't be fooled by the model, it is the worst picture ever of the product, Targer really needs to re-shoot this shot.

I'm still wearing my Old Navy Maternity Smooth-Panel Rockstar Jeggings  (I bought two pairs) and my Kiki La'Rue Jeggings (which aren't maternity, but fit below my belly). Nearly all of my shirts still work for my growing belly and some of my dresses have been turned into tunics for the time being.

 photo 5E35843F-0F3A-4438-9FCE-002D799DA59A-12574-000007449E682B0D_zps3fbb55d7.jpg
I've been trying really hard at not buying any clothes, especially since my shower(s) are so close, but I couldn't help myself when two of these onesies were the last ones left at Target. The pants have little ruffles down the sides too.

Belly Button in or out?: Flat! I think it will definitely be popping out by the time Baby L arrives.

Sleep: Again, with my dreams! I need to only watch Disney or feel-good movies because anything at all suspenseful or sad that I watch/read before bed just really gets into my subconscious. Another girlfriend of mine is lending me her snoogle pillow, I've only used it a few nights and liked it, but it's a pain to change sides with during the night.

Best moment this week: I can still paint my toes!! My sweet husband was going to paint them for me, but I found that if I sit on the couch and bring up one foot at a time to the edge I can do it all by my big girl self. Phew, I feel like the hubs and I kind of dodged a bullet with this one.

Worst moment this week: The vainest day of my life, aka Stretch Mark Gate. I felt pretty silly after I was over it, especially knowing how lucky I am and how they'll probably get worse and I'll get more with this pregnancy and probably my future ones.

 photo 1FFE3EF7-A0F9-41B4-9319-2E2DB112D49A-15106-000008870F131BD7_zpsdfa88ae5.jpg photo ED9E1611-3290-47DC-9081-202B5173FFE4-15106-00000887241A1335_zps3f7fe37d.jpg
Here is another blanket I made for my sorority Big Sis, I absolutely love it! I'll have to make a duplicate for my little bunny.

Have you told family and friends: Absolutely!

Miss Anything? I've started making a list of the foods I want to eat as soon as the pregnancy is over. I don't have any strong cravings for anything I can't have, but I have been daydreaming about blue cheese (you are supposed to steer clear of unpastuerized cheeses due to bacteria).

Movement: Lots and lots! Right now she is hanging out just under my ribs so I have to stretch out to get some relief. I also feel a lot of weight in my lower abdomen which is really uncomfortable, especially when standing/walking, I feel like I need to wear a support band or something sometimes.

Food cravings: More fruit and Pinkberry. This weekend I had to have Pinkberry, once I thought about it, I couldn't get it out of my head, so the hubs and I piled into our car and waited in the longest line ever to get some. It was delicious and totally worth the wait!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada.

Have you started to show yet: Yes and so has the top part of my belly button. You can see it through some of my shirts even.

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: I'm getting more and more tired by day's end, but I'm also blaming the time change for this as well.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy!

I had two fun surprises this past week, first, Frances of It's Sew my Style sent me the Animals book and The Happiest Baby. It was such a sweet and generous gift, thank you again! Second, one of my girlfriends gave me One Hot Mama, which I'm super excited about reading!

What I'm reading: Right now I'm reading A Piece of Cake, a memoir of Cupcake Brown, but it's giving me nightmares. I'm going to start reading the books above before bedtime now.

Looking forward to: The nursery is almost cleaned out!! Woohoo!! I just have a few items to go over, and it's those items where if they were to be thrown out, you would never know it, but for some reason you've held onto them forever. I was able to throw a lot of items out last week, and it felt so good to get rid of so much clutter! I'm actually looking forward to finishing up clearing it out this weekend, vaccuuming the room, and getting it ready to start putting together.

Thank you so much for reading along on my pregnancy journey, all your emails and comments have meant to much to me. Having a community to share this with and have women to ask questions to has been wonderful!
