New Spring Inspiration Board

The heat in CA has been up and I've been wearing shorts every weekend, but it's still not "Spring". I haven't worn my new Go Jane wedges yet, even though I'm wearing flip-flops because I'm waiting to wear them with a Spring outfit.
I've been scouring my Nordstrom catalog along with my magazines and have finally put together my new inspiration board. I'm sure I'll be adding to it, right now it's mostly beauty-related things for make-up and hair, but I still wanted to share it with you.

Here's a shot of the whole thing:

Here's some close-ups of the board:

The top focuses on accessories- belting dresses, layering jewelry and different ways to wear scarves (Goodness I own enough of them). Then the middle, upper corner and bottom I have ways to change up your hair al la Whitney Port (remember her Beauty Inspiration post? Gorgeous!), a new nail look, tons of beauty trends I want to try, and some sunglasses I have my eye on (future post coming sone).

I think this board is perfect for this time of year because I can slowly bring on Spring trends before busting them all out at once in mid-February. Even though it is pretty warm here, I still don't want to wear something that could be deemed seasonally-inappropriate. I realize that fashion rules have evolved and I love Winter White, but some garments are too early to wear out sometimes, like lightweight sundresses. Please do not hold me to this because I'm keeping my right to change my mind at anytime. LOL. This time of year before Spring/Summer are really here I like to dress the part of the weather and wear a mix of Winter-Spring clothes Kramey Martin has geniusly dubbed Spri-nter.  For example, my light weight long sleeve with shorts I wore in this OOTD. Perfect Spri-nter outfit for CA!

Switching up my beauty routine to warmer colors, wearing bright lips, and changing my hair are easy switches that I plan on doing this month (and in the warmer seasons) to tide me over until I can officially bring out my Spring/Summer storage boxes of clothes and make the switch. If only it could hurry Mother Nature to bring on the heat!

What are you ladies doing in anticipation of Spring/Summer? From your blogs, I can see that you guys are as excited as I am, but I know many of you still have cold weather. I have a confession for you, since I grew up in Utah, I've never gotten over not having snow in wintertime (see my top 10 of both CA and UT here). All of your pictures that have snow in the background make my heart ache just a tiny bit. How are you divas doing in the cold? What are you looking forward to wearing?

Re-Post Valentine Crafts

**Hey ladies! I posted this last year (see it originally here), but with Valentines coming up I wanted to re-post some crafts I've made in the past. Amber from Amber's Notebook has a great idea in the comments of the original post as well you might want to check out! I've done it myself and the Fiance LOVED it! Feel free to add any ideas as well! I'm looking for something new this year!**

For holidays, the BF and I like to do something together instead of exchanging gifts, but we always exchange a card. Psssst....he picks the best ones! I re-read them all the time!

With Valentines coming up, I thought I would share two card ideas I did for my lover that he absolutely loved. It was a big hit with his roommates and my guy friends as well. One guy even took a picture and sent it to his girlfriend for her to do next time! Lol!

They're both easy, just time consuming, and they won't cost you a pretty penny.

The first is a candy bar card, it's pretty common, but people forget about it. You just write out a message using candy for part of the words. It gets kind of hard sometimes to think of lines, but it's fun to be creative. I found that it was easier to list a bunch of candy first, then see what I could make of it. I did this card for his birthday and it was a lot of fun to make. PS several of my friends made fun of me for this card, but 3 of them have since copied my great idea!

The second card I did for Valentines Day last year. On the front I put "I love you more than..." and then cut out what felt like 100s of hearts (really wish I had a die-cut) by hand and put things I enjoy on them. Then on the inside I did the ABCs of what I love about him. This card took more time than I thought so I would suggest starting soon. Like today. My friends made fun of me for this card too (why do I keep asking them for help with ideas???) but they all loved the finished product.

**Updates**

Here are some cute cards I found from Martha Stewart! They're so cute! Click on the type of card to link to the instructions. She also has other cute gift ideas to check out as well like a Pistachio Wreath, Jewelry Box of Semi-Precious Candies, and Heart-Shaped Pot Holders (which I'm dying to do).

Heartstring Valentines Card- a message is revealed as you pull the string!

Embellished Envelope Cards- Super cute coupons for loved ones!

This year the Fiance and I have decided to give eachother something sweet to eat. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do for a card, but for a gift I'm thinking of a cookie bouquet or one gigantic cookie. Ladies, if you have any cute ideas, please share!

Best Dressed at the SAGs

I was too late to post about the GG, but I'm on top of the SAGs!

Some of the ladies of Glee killed it, per usual! Sorry Naya, you just haven't quite got it yet. I'm still in love with these three ladies, they really know how to bring it to the red carpet.

Modern Family looked H-O-T too. I know Julie Bowen's look is controversial since it's a pantsuit, but I think she wore it really well.

These ladies were also GORGEOUS! These mothers-to-be were stunning this year and their dresses showed off their growing bumps while still being nothing but stunning.

Angie Harmon, your dress I think is my fave overall. It's just lovely. It would be the cutest wedding dress too.

100 Days Until the BIG Day!

Today marks 100 days until the wedding!! Aaagh tomorrow we'll be in double digits! I was so excited I got the Fiance a card (above) and got us something special and something we (really I) need...

A cooking class! Groupon (have you signed up yet??) had a special for classes at the Village Kitchen Shoppe in Glendora, CA so I took advantage and got one for us both to take. We've talked in the past how fun it would be to take a class together and learn to make something delicious and I thought this was the perfect opportunity! The classes are different each week and include some delicious food like Northwood's Inn Cheesebread (absolutely delicious!), Pork Rillettes, plus more.

Also, I'm so happy about the wedding being so close! The Fiance is my pefect match and really does complete me. Being with him has been a complete joy and has brought so much to my life these past years together. They always say that when you meet The One you know and it really is true. I can tell you when and where we met, what we talked about and what we were wearing. From that day forth I knew he was special and I couldn't explain why I was so drawn to him without sounding like a romantic git. We didn't date for several months and in those months we both dated oher people but I always just KNEW he was for me. I'll tell you guys the whole story another time, I'm sure.

LOVE These Flowergirls!

From Idaho Wedding at Style Me Pretty

Aren't these flowergirls just the cutest?? I love their hair, simple dresses with ruffle sleeves, and I especially LOVE their yellow flipflops!!

I haven't picked out the dresses for my 4 flowergirls yet, so I've tagged this picture for inspiration. Since the flowergirls are young, I want them to be comfortable and have their dresses to be played and danced in with ease and not constricting or itchy. The sandals add such a fun pop of color and are comfortable for children to play and dance in. I'm definitely going to steal this idea!!

What do you think? Did you have any flowergirls at your wedding? What did they wear? What have you seen at other weddings? Any suggestions for where I can shop for simple dresses like these?

**Quick questions, do you like these short wedding posts? Would you like to see something specific? I'm dying to share more with you about my own wedding choices, but you'll have to wait until the big day! I swore when I was first engaged that I would not turn LLP into a wedding blog, but these posts have become pretty regular and I wanted to make sure you guys are interested in it. Let me know your thoughts!!**

Celeb Inspiration: Charlize Theron

Charlize is one of the most gorgeous women in Hollywood. From fresh faced to old glamour, she is always look hot hot hot!

Grey is the new Black: I LOVE the way grey compliments everyone and is ready for any occasion. Charlize has worn is comfortably, on the red carpet, and quite chicly.

Red Carpet: This glamazon knows what shapes accentuate her long figure and shows off her curves just right.

Risk-Taker: Miss Theron is right on trend, sometimes before it becomes a trend even, with vibrant colors, new cuts, or killer hemlines.

Casual: If it wasn't for the movie Monster, I would never know that Charlize could ever look less than chic. Skinny jeans and big sunnies are some go-to item in her closet.

Sassy: Charlize stands out with with some amazing cocktail frocks. Digging for gold, vibrant colors, and anything-but-a-Stepford wife dresses are some of my faves.

Do you like Charlize's style? What's your favorite look?

OOTD

Nordstrom Lace Tank
Nordstrom Pearl Necklace
JBrand Skinny Jeans
Nordstrom BP Flats

This isn't what I'm wearing today because I'm sick, so I wore something really comfy for work, but I did wear this recently for work. I love this tank top, it's so cute and looks great under a blazer. The only flaw is that you have to wear a strapless bra, but I love my Victoria Secret one so it isn't too bad. This is also the first time I've worn my hair straight in weeks. You like?

PS I finally took off my glittery polish from OPI Burlesque Sparkle-icious (see it on here) and it was such a pain! I know that glitter is difficult to remove from fingers already, but this OPI one was insane. My fingers were sore afterwards.

Here's a pic of the cupcakes I made for the Wedding Craft Day I had over the weekend. They were delicious and super moist. I meant to take pictures throughout day and everyone who came (plus, I was having a REALLY good hair day that day), but I got too busy crafting. I'm so bummed because I would have loved to have some from the day.

It was a great turn out and we had so much fun! My invitations are nearly done! I just need to stamp and seal them. I wanted to wait and weigh them after they were put together to see if we'll need extra postage and I didn't want to seal them yet in case I needed to make any changes. They're beautiful and the other crafts we put together that day turned out really well and I can't wait to use them on the big day.

I just wanted to thank everyone who came, it meant so much to me to have so much love and support. I seriously have the BEST family and friends a girl could ask for!
